Description - Pending Course Approval
The 180+ hour Emergency Medical Technician course exceeds the National Standard Curriculum and the guidelines set forth by the State of New York. Designed to prepare competent and compassionate entry-level healthcare providers; this exciting, yet demanding course will be taught by educators in a dynamic environment through lecture, demonstration, and practical (hands-on) instruction. Additional assignments will supplement classroom and lab instruction. Students will be given the opportunity to join providers on shift during their clinical externship.
Class meets four times a week, Monday-Thursday from 9:00pm - 3:00pm.

Requirements
- Students must be 17 years of age by August 31, 2025.
- Students must have unrestricted access to a computer or tablet.
- Students must provide an email address and have reliable internet access and current web browser.
Cost/Payment
Course Tuition and Fees Total: $950.00 plus an additional $250.00 for all required course materials: lab materials, uniform, scheduling/skills tracking software access, textbooks and online course access. The $250.00 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.
New York State funding is available for members of certified ambulance agencies. Students using this option for payment will be required to complete an agency verification form. Students using New York State funding option will be responsible for course fees totaling $150.00 paid as a non-refundable deposit at the time of registration. Please note: should potential restrictions be placed upon educational institutions and agencies due to Covid-19 the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services is prepared to offer this course in a blended (on-line and social distanced, in-person) format. Should this be necessary, information will be shared with participants. The facilities and equipment at the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services have and will continue to be cleaned and sanitized to ensure staff and participant safety.
